Wall bed hardware
Wall bed mechanisms & hardware, built like our frames.
HJF Metal supplies the B2B hardware behind wall beds (Murphy beds) — the lift systems, rotation hardware and steel frames that make a folding bed safe to live with. Made in the same Longgang plant, with the same in-house welding and powder coating as our bed frames. The rotation hardware is our own design rather than a bought-in hinge set, and units ship complete with the cabinet. New to sourcing them? Read the wall bed hardware buyer's guide.
What we make
Gas-spring lift systems
Balanced piston hardware that lets a wall bed fold up and down without slamming. Supplied for both vertical and horizontal (side-mount) configurations.
Rotation hardware
The points a folding bed turns on, machined in our own shop rather than bought in, so the bed sits square year after year.
Locking & safety catches
Latches that hold the bed closed against the wall and release safely when opened.
Wall bed steel frames
The welded steel frame a mattress platform mounts to, in carbon-steel square or D-tube.
Mounting & fixing kits
Wall brackets, floor plates and the fixings that anchor a wall bed to a cabinet or a solid wall.
Custom mechanism parts
Non-standard brackets, arms or fittings cut and bent to your drawing.

Frame outer is the cabinet opening the unit needs, not a nominal mattress size. Build the carcass to that dimension and the frame goes in as one piece.
Load rating and mattress thickness
| Mattress width | Rated load |
|---|---|
| 900 mm, 1200 mm | 200 kg |
| 1350 mm, 1500 mm | 300 kg |
| Mattress thickness, all sizes | 130–150 mm |
The thickness range is fixed. A thinner mattress sits loose on the platform, and a thicker one will not clear the cabinet when the bed folds up.
Sourcing questions
The rotation hardware is our own design, not a bought-in hinge set, so there is no third-party part to swap in. On a unit already shipped, worn parts can be quoted from our own tooling. Send the model code or a photo of the part and we match it.
200 kg for the 900 mm and 1200 mm sizes, 300 kg for 1350 mm and 1500 mm. Each configuration is tested to EN 1129 at the size it ships at, and the report can go with your shipment.
The mechanism transfers load into a solid wall or into a cabinet carcass built to take it, and we supply the mounting plates and fixings for both cases. Timber stud walls need extra blocking behind the fixings. We flag that before the order, not after.
The wall bed ships as a complete unit together with its cabinet. If you already have a carcass on site, build or adjust the opening to the Frame outer dimension shown for that model in the table above, because the frame goes in as one piece. Send the opening size and we confirm which model fits.
Yes. The mechanisms are tested to EN 1129 by SGS, report XMHL2005002469FT, covering the sizes listed on this page. If your market needs a different standard, testing can be arranged and quoted separately.
Between 130 mm and 150 mm on every size. A thinner mattress sits loose on the platform, and a thicker one will not clear the cabinet when the bed folds up. This is the one specification we cannot flex on.
