The 1800 floating frame and its freight cost
Floating frames sell on how the room looks, and 1800 mm is the width where that reads properly. The concealed-leg base leaves the floor line clear, which is the whole point of the design in a main bedroom or a suite.
The cost shows up in the carton. Widening from 1500 to 1800 pushes the pack from 810 mm to 960 mm across, which drops a 40HQ from about 345 sets to about 295. Packed volume goes from 0.17 to 0.20 m³ and gross weight from 39.70 kg to 43.02 kg.
At 295 sets, one container covers roughly 295 rooms if a single frame goes into each. That is a realistic whole-hotel order for a mid-size property, which is not true of every size in this catalogue.
Both widths use 32 slats at a 25 mm gap, so mattress support is identical at either size. If the project is priced on landed cost, the knock-down series carries three times as many sets per container. If it is priced on how the room looks, this is the frame that carries it.
